sml_gallery_225_6719_22440I have been listening to Kent music for nearly 30 years now, collecting the fantastic rare soul LP’s with their cool titles and covers, not to mention the fantastic tracks. Singles were a must also as were the 100 Club Anniversary singles.

Within this time period, many visits to the 100 Club have given me the opportunity to dance to these high quality discoveries first hand.
‘The Magic Touch’ ‘I’m stepping out of the picture’ ‘Looking for you’ these were staples and the backdrop for other dj’s to express their personal taste. Ady C, Mick, Butch and Shifty were so good, I went 8 years straight without missing a nighter in the old 1.30 till 8 heyday.

In October 2007 I was pleased to be able to make it along to to the Kent 25th anniversary celebration at the Forum in Kentish Town, London.
A great night with live performances from Maxine Brown, The Flirtations, Tommy Hunt and Winfield Parker.

magic touchKent Records like the nights at the 100 Club just seem to go on forever. We have grown up with Kent and have had easy access to wonderful records under the Kent umbrella. From The ‘Magic Touch’ to the latter day fantastic ‘baby don’t you weep’ by Luther Ingram and not to mention the highly desirable and collectible anniversary singles, yes it has to be said Kent has been good to us over the years and long may it continue!
